Facials, though they are relaxing, are more about rejuvenating and improving the facial skin, resulting in a younger, healthier and improved look.
Chemical peel treatments involve applying an acidic solution to the skin to stimulate new and healthy cell growth while exfoliating damaged cells form the surface. New skin is left smoother and with more even coloration. Chemical peels are commonly used to help reduce fine lines, acne, uneven texture and discoloration. Chemical peels can be done on the face, back, chest and hands. Depending on your skin’s condition and desired results, we will choose the right peel for you. Superficial peels are typically performed in a series, spaced 2-4 weeks apart. Deeper peels are often done a couple times a year. During the peel, a mild heat sensation may occur that lasts for a couple of minutes.
Microdermabrasion is a gentle exfoliation technique that uses a diamond-tip wand to gently slough off the outermost damaged layers of skin, to improve the appearance of the skin. Affected skin cells are gently suctioned away, while stimulating circulation and new cell growth. Microdermabrasion is ideal for fine lines, superficial skin discolorations, uneven texture and clogged pores. Microdermabrasion is effective for all skin types and can be used on the chest, back, hands, as well as face. Patients rarely experience sensitivity or down-time, if anything a mild sunburn feeling may occur for a few minutes. The skin will be overly sensitive to the sun after removing the surface layer.
Micro-needling devices include rollers with wheels of needles and pens with a cluster of needles at the tip. The slight injury they cause stimulates the growth of collagen, the scaffolding under the skin, which then improves the appearance of some scars and wrinkles.
